Motor vehicle collision claimed a live in downtown Sudbury intersection
Greater Sudbury Police Service is investigating after a pedestrian was killed after being struck by a motor vehicle Sunday evening.
Just before 6 p.m., GSPS advised of the crash in a tweet.
The collision happened in the eastbound lane of Minto Street at the Brady Street intersection.
About ten minutes later, GSPS tweeted an update.
“Intersection Brady Street at Minto Street closed,” said police in the tweet.
“Please find an alternative route.”
Just after 7:30 p.m., in another update, police advised officers were on the scene of “a fatal pedestrian collision” and that the driver involved had remained at the scene following the collision.
The Traffic Management Unit of GSPS is investigating.
“If you witnessed the collision, please call us 705-675-9171,” police said.
When CTV News arrived on the scene, the forensic investigation was already underway.
The intersection of Brady at Minto Street remains closed as 10 p.m. Sunday.
